Imagination pt 2. (5 minute challenge) !

I had a creative writing teacher who always challenged the us in class. We would come in to class and the first thing we would notice is our twenty minute challenge on the board. Once the bell rung the challenged started. This was always fun and was what I looked forward to every week.

The Goal:

Take a sheet of paper and pen

Write any and everything that came to mind

You only have 20 mins to create something special.

Could be a poem, short story, or whatever.

The Process:

There had to be complete silence

You had to write without stopping

Write until the timer stopped

The End:

We read out loud what was on our paper

This was the fun part.

No matter what was on the paper the class always enjoyed it because we came up with silly things. We laughed from every challenge that was read.

So here's my challenge for you, set your timer for five minutes and write whatever comes to your mind. Challenge your friends. Make this fun. This not only helps with creativity, but it puts you in the mood to write. This also helps get rid of the writers block.

Have fun!

Imagination Pt. 1

Have you heard a writer say their creativity comes from music or movies that they have listen to or watched?

How about they seen an object that sent sparks to their brain?

Well this could be true... but take the time and think is this Imagination or cultivated by the norm?

Have you tried to create the most ridiculous things that will not be accepted in our society? why or why not? This is my favorite type of writing. I love to push the boundaries even if it's the most ridiculous thing i ever write.

For example: A dog that fly's. Or a pen that writes by itself.

These are things that makes life seem not so dull. What would challenge the norm, the right or left even the in between. This is the most exciting part of writing. Forgetting what everyone else would be drawn to and write what comes to you, because I guaranteed if you love it, it will be loved.

Now take a second and let the that's not good writing come out of you. Today, try something out of the ordinary. Wriie for twenty minutes, and have fun with it.
